We hear you! Both those of you who were able to attend our Mahjong event in September and those of you who wanted to be there, but couldn’t. You loved the time coming together around the table and meeting new friends while learning a new game and asked us for more!
Starting late October, we are bringing you a “Mahjong Mini-mester” for the purpose of equipping you to go out and gather people around your own tables. For the seven weeks between Oct. 26th – December 7th, we will gather from 6:00 – 8:00pm in The Commons for a time of fun play and looking at some of the essential components for building healthy community. We will kick off each evening with a short teaching on biblical community, and then provide you with some related discussion questions as you play. Each week we will share ways you can welcome in others, help them feel seen, heard and valued, and keep the main thing the main thing! Our prayer is at the end of the mini-mester, you feel equipped to invite others around your table and use this game as a way to open up spiritual conversations and develop relationships with others.
Because the purpose of this event is about meeting women where they are, we will gather to play around tables with others of varying experience for open play where teachable moments happen naturally.
We will have a lesson week 1 for anyone needing a beginner lesson or refresher. Once you’ve been taught the basics, the best way to learn more is to jump in and play with others, learning more as you go.
This mini-mester is for your you if :
You love connection with others, meeting people where they are, and learning and growing together!
You enjoy sharing what you know with others and are willing to receive from others with more experience.
You wonder how you can invite others in or start meaningful conversations with less fear and uncertainty.
You would like to be more intentional in reaching out to others with friendship, and desire to “Share Jesus with All.”
This opportunity is not a fit for you if you are looking for serious, competitive or tournament style play. Mahjong is our tool, not our end goal!
