What Else Happens During the Week?

The following is a list of regular activities during the Fall and Spring. For our summer schedule, please contact the church office at (979)776-1400.

Sunday Nights for Children

3:30-4:30 Puppets—His Power Shows

This team of older children (grade 3 and above) and youth share the power and love of Jesus in creative and fun ways. The team finds great joy in sharing with groups in the church and community.

4:30-5:00 Tone Chimes

The Tone Chime choir the children in grades 2-3 gain skills in reading music and playing these instruments as well as having several opportunities and contributing to our Worship Services.

4:30-5:00 Young Ringers

In this handbell choir the children in grades 4-6 gain skills in reading music and playing these instruments as well as having several opportunities and contributing to our Worship Services.

5:00-6:00 Children’s Choirs

Preschool Music and Me (age 3 by 9/1 through Pre-K): This group focuses on beginning music experiences in a relaxed learning environment. It is a non-performing group.

Music Time for Kindergarteners: This group continues the emphasis on a variety of music experiences with a little more structure in preparation for first grade choir. The musical focus continues to be on increasing sensitivity to pitch and rhythm. They usually perform two times each year.

Music Makers 1 for children in Grader 1: This group continues to focus on matching pitch, developing a singing voice, and beginning music reading skills. They perform with Music Makers 2-3 approximately 4 times during the year.

Music Makers 2-3 for children in Grader 2-3: This group builds on previous singing and music reading skills. They perform with Music Makers 1 approximately 4 times during the year.

Young Musicians for children in Grader 4-6: This group emphasizes in-tune singing and introduces beginning part-singing. They perform approximately 4 times during the year.

6:00-7:00 Bible Buddies (Grades 1 and 2-3)

Bible Buddies builds Bible skills and understanding of biblical sequence of events at an age appropriate level for each group.

6:00-7:00 Bible Skills Drills and Thrills (Grades 4-6)

These groups build stronger Bible skills and understanding of biblical sequence of biblical events. Bible Drill, a program of Bible memorization, finding books of the Bible, and learning key passages, is also offered at this time.

Childcare is offered from 5-7pm for children birth through ages 3.

Sunday Nights for Youth

4:00-6:00 Small Groups 

Students have the option of choosing four ministry tracks to focus on for their small group. For more information, click here.

Sundays Night for Adults

5:00-7:00 Financial Peace University (Next session begins Fall 2010)

FPU is a 13-week life changing course on personal finance. It is designed to empower people to better manage their money, eliminate debt, and build wealth. All materials are biblically based and taught via video by Dave Ramsey. Go to www.daveramsey.com for more information.

5:00-7:00 Divorce Care (Next session begins Fall 2010)

Divorce Care is a support group that provides instruction from a biblical perspective to those going through divorce, separation, and related issues such as reconciliation, remarriage, and forgiveness.

5:00-7:00 Grief Share (Next session begins Fall 2010)

6:00-7:00 FBC Praise Singers

Praise Singers is an adult choir who loves to proclaim the hope and grace of Jesus Christ through choral music. It is a family of musicians who lead worship in the Traditional Worship service on Sunday mornings, special events, and 2 musical productions each year. Another rehearsal option is Wednesday at 7:00 pm.

Hallelujah Ringers – adult group, meets on Sunday nights 

Tuesdays

9:45-12:00 Mothers Of Preschoolers

MOPS is an enrichment program for mothers with preschoolers meet on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays during the school year. Younger preschoolers are cared for through the MOPPETS program that meets at the same time.

5:30-6:30 First Place

This 13 week Christ-centered health program helps each participant to balance their spiritual, mental, emotional and physical parts of their life and give Jesus the first priority of their entire self. Accountability, along with Bible study and a sensible eating plan make it possible for members to experience a more abundant life.

6:00-7:30 Solo Deo Gloria Bells

This experienced adult handbell choir meets weekly for rehearsal and performs for numerous worship services and other events throughout the year.

Wednesdays

10:00-11:00am Mainly Music

A program for preschoolers and their caregivers to enjoy music, rhyme, rhythm, and dancing together! Caregivers and children ages 0 to Pre-K are welcomed. Cost is $2 per family each session.

4:00-5:00 Broadman Singers

Our Senior Adult choir, Broadman Singers, is one of the most active choral groups in our church. Traveling, fellowships, and great rehearsals are all a part of this choir designed for friends enjoying life at 55 plus.

5:00-5:45 Fellowship Meal

A meal is served weekly in the Fellowship Hall for the convenience of those attending the Wednesday night activities. Reservations are required by Tuesday.

6:00-7:00 Midweek Service

Each Wednesday night there is a midweek service in the Worship Center. The time of worship includes prayer for those in need as well as Bible study.

6:00- 7:00 Preschool Prime Time

Ages 3 through 5 are divided into age groups for an hour of games, crafts, music and Bible activities appropriate for the age of each Child.

6:00-7:00 Royal Ambassadors (Grades 1-3, Grades 4-6)

R.A.’s is a club for boys that helps build strong, Christ-like character through mission study activities on Wednesdays as well as outside events, such as building R.A. racers, campouts, and learning camp craft skills.

6:00-7:00 Girls in Action ( Grades 1-3, Grades 4-6)

GA’s is a club for girls that helps young ladies become “mission-minded” through Bible study, mission study and personal mission involvements. Special Activities that are planned throughout the year include retreats, a Mother-Daughter Tea and a Walk-a-Thon for World Hunger.

6:00-7:00 Alive Youth Gathering

Students in grades 7-12 meet for student-led worship, relevant teaching, and discussions.

7:00-8:00 FBC Praise Singers

7:00-8:00 FBC Orchestra

FBC Orchestra is composed of adults and students with a passion for instrumental music. They lead worship often in our Traditional Worship as well as accompany our adult choir and participate in special events and musical productions. Orchestra is under the leadership of David Kipp and practices on Wednesday in the worship center.
