Is He Worthy?

04.22.20 | Devotional by John Davison

Often times my heart is stirred during worship in ways I have never experienced.  God created music and he created our response to it…for his Glory and our good.  We can all testify of powerful moments that involved music, from worshipping together with fellow believers singing out the truths about God or joining with 37,000 other Red Sox fans at Fenway park screaming out Sweet Caroline.  Music is powerful, even more so in worship and response to God.

One of the songs that has been a catalyst of that in me of the last couple years is a song from Andrew Peterson called Is He Worthy.  Almost liturgical in natural, it reminds me of God’s greatness in the midst of our current reality.  I encourage you to take a few moments, be still, and just listen to the lyrics.  After you finish the song follow the guide below, filled with prayer prompts that can help you respond to the Worthiness of God.  I encourage you not to rush through this time.  Maybe you only get through verse 1 now and need to return to this later, but it is worth it as our hearts and reminded of God’s goodness.
